Length of Training:
20 weeks

Days/Time:
Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.
Students must maintain a 90% attendance level.

Entry Requirements:
JobTrain Orientation and WONDERLIC Assessment. Must have ability to communicate clearly in English (written and verbal), basic math skills, and a desire to work in the trades. May be required to lift 70 lbs. and climb ladders, and should not be sensitive or allergic to fumes and chemical solutions. By completion of training, candidate must have acquired a GED in order to work in unions. Must be drug and alcohol free. Drivers license and transportation required prior to completion.

Skills to be attained:

  • Introduction to Construction training/ Environmental training
  • HAZWOPER (Hazardous Waste Removal, Asbestos Removal, Lead Removal)
  • Basic general construction skills and construction math geared toward apprenticeships.
  • Life skills
  • Forklift training
  • STEPS
  • Networking
  • Basic construction mathematics

Pre-Apprentice Union Participation:
Carpentry, Drywall, Metal Studs, Modular Installation, Iron worker, Electrician, Plumber

Accreditation:
Fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools & Colleges (WASC).
